Show starts at 2:00 on Friday and ends on Sunday at 2:00pm.



Our Special Guest - John Acorn

Banquet and an evening with John Acorn. - On Saturday night, join us at the Silver State Club at NAS Fallon (map available at Festival Central) for a no-host cocktail hour followed by a scrumptious buffet feast and then listen while John entertains and enlightens the audience with his lively discussion of field guides. Bar opens at 5:00, dinner at 6:00. John will speak immediately after the meal.



John Acorn is a scientist, freelance writer, photographer, and broadcaster. With a BS in zoology, an MS in entomology, work experience in both paleontology and insect ecology, and an insatiable interest in every single living creature on earth, he brings a fresh, engaging approach to science exploration. John's ability to cut through webs of jargon and rarified theory to present accounts that are both interesting and accurate has landed him work as a public speaker and writer for films, television, exhibits, and children' sbooks. In addition to hosting his television series, 'John Acorn, The Nature Nut' he is also host of the 26-part series, 'Twits and Pishers', a series devoted to the increasingly popular recreation of bird watching. John is author and photographer of Butterflies in Alberta , published by Lone Pine. He also collaborated with Dr. Dale Russell on three "Tiny Perfect Dinosaur" books, the first of which received the Parents Choice Gold Award in 1992. In the fall of 1998, John was nominated by the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta (his alma mater) for the prestigious Alberta Science and Technology Awards and was acknowledged for his excellence in science and technology journalism. John's visit made possible by a grant from the US Bureau of Reclamation.
